Just when you thought your Model 204 applications couldn't possibly get any faster, IBM raises the bar by announcing
the upcoming availability of the z990 C & D models. The
new systems provide significantly more memory which Model
204 can exploit by using dataspaces for server swapping and
CCATEMP, and ultimately exceeding the 2 gigabyte virtual storage
limit. They are also equipped with a particularly sophisticated
channel subsystem, including fast Fibre channels that allow
Model 204 to achieve exceedingly high I/O rates. Supporting
up to 32 processors and 30 LPARs, the new z990 models can
