New to
Model 204? Or been away from it for a while and just coming
back? Have we got a class for you!
To help
everyone get the most out of this year's Insight 204 Symposium,
CCA is offering a free, one-day, pre-Insight Model 204 refresher
class entitled "Getting to Know Model 204". The
objective of this course is to provide an introduction to
Model 204's system and file architecture, User Language and
connectivity options. It is ideal for programmers, system
managers, and database administrators who are relatively new
to Model 204, or require a fast-paced refresher of the fundamental
concepts and facilities. Topics include overviews of:
v The
Model 204 system environment, system recovery, enqueueing,
security and the role of the System Manager.
v File
architecture, including the internal table structures that
comprise a file, the page concept, file recovery/reorganization,
and the role of the File Manager.
v User
Language, including the environment, opening/closing files,
Find statement, record loops, screen processing and the
role of the programmer.
v Connectivity
to Model 204, including Nucleus-based SQL, the Connect *
environment, PC access using SQL and Remote Command Line
(RCL) and data sharing techniques using the Parallel Query
Option (PQO/204), and Message Queueing Middleware using
Websphere/MQ and MQ/204.
This
pre-Insight class is being held right at the Hyatt Harborside
Hotel on Tuesday, September 17th, beginning at
11:00am. The class will be over by 5:00pm, just in time to
get ready for the Insight 204 Welcome Reception that kicks
off the Symposium!
If you
are interested in attending this class, please indicate so when
you register for Insight 204.
If you had already registered for Insight 204 BEFORE this class
was announced, please send an e-mail to cheryl_hanlin@cca-int.com,
and indicate that you plan to attend this class.
See
you in September!
