after release, Model 204 has become ever more efficient
and powerful. Recent versions have seen the introduction of
more ways to extend the power of Model 204 throughout
the enterprise and beyond, using strategic new products
and enhancements such as Websphere/MQ, SQL, Java and
the External Call Facility. Are you getting the most out of your Model 204
investment? Have
you improved performance and functionality with new
V5R1 features, and are you leveraging the connectivity
options to seamlessly integrate Model 204 with the rest
of your IT infrastructure? This presentation will explore the theme of this year’s
Insight 204 symposium by reviewing key features and
solutions in the Model 204 product line and discussing
how they are used in a concerted manner to solve real-world
problems. |

Model 204, V5R1 has been commercially available since
March 2002. It is a major release with many new features
that will benefit all customers. In addition to these
features, performance continues to improve with no changes
required to parameters, files or UL applications. Jim
will present results from the TPCB Benchmark which show
how these performance improvements translate into reduced
CPU consumption and higher transaction throughput across
the last five releases of Model 204. In addition, Jim
will highlight the performance options of V5R1, which
can be enabled through new parameter settings in CCAIN
to further maximize Model 204 efficiency and reduce
operating costs. |
